Well I was looking the at the URC Hants test in July because I'm planning to run my boys as well. They're running Special Puppy, Intermediate and Veteran...BUT they have a reputation at setting pretty hard tests anyway
Maybe I'd do better to enter KSS as you mentioned Di, and or URC Southern who I just checked are running theirs alongside NDNH again.
Neil, are you running in a specific test, or trying to find one to run in? If the latter, I don't mind jotting down what the tests consisted of (from memory) and how the veteran differed (if at all).
Oh Neil you are making me all twitchy. I have yet to receive a single bit of paperwork from ALL the clubs I belong too with dates for the tests and I need to get planning.
Why oh why are they always so flippin slow in the East!
I've only had one booklet through. Most booklets are planned for the end of Jan to mid Feb so noone is late yet, URC Southern are just VERY early with theirs!
Neil, be aware that just because a veteran test is run WITH another test it is extremely likely the tests *may* be very different or at least different. So don't be entirely fooled into thinking that because its run with a NDNH the tests will be at that level.
Really to have them at that level or near that level would be incorrect as Veterans really are about testing your old decent dogs that probably ran in Open in their 'day' and so they are meant to be scaled down a little to account for aching bones, but not ridiculously so.
Also management changes of clubs change the test difficulty set. Every secretary has their own idea of how hard a certain test level should be.
In all honesty, I would call, near to the time of the test before close of entries the secretary and ask them straight what level *roughly* their test will be geared. But as I say I know Guildford run it with their Intermediate at the same level. We make it a medium to hard Novice test level. And I used to run in the URC one with the NDNH a few years ago and it was considerably harder then than a NDNH and rightly so... but may have changed of course.
