I just have to second what everyone else has said Den, you can't rescue all of them and at the same time, your pup will have the fabulous forever home he/she deserves.
My first was a rescue, then Bosun we got from a breeder, then Rosie who is also a rescue ... I might alternate!  
Now you allow yourself to get excited about your puppy, you deserve to enjoy the experience and stop beating yourself up
