please have a look at the 'Gentle Leader', this has a small adjustable clip under the chin so they find them almost impossible to get off, we use them in class, even with the most manic of collies!

Well, here's a turn up for the books! After reading this thread I went to the Gentle leader website, watched the lengthy video all on the gentle leader and well...

I'm sold, I'm going to give it a try, there is even a gentle leader trainer not far from me.

So there you have it...

The gentle leader is ordered. I'll keep you informed, it looks very secure and seems to also be aimed at stopping dogs from jumping up and running up to people and dogs, so we shall see!

Yes it looks like that.

I tried the gentle leader on her in the shop but it rode up into her eyes. But she is half border collie so don't let that put you off them, as her head's a different shape to full-blown labs Wink .

It seems the fitting is very important, there is a demo on the vid that goes into a LOT of detail about it and if all else fails there is a gentle leader trainer not far from me who I could consult. Fingers crossed anyway.

After all the same halter/collar/method isn't going to work for every dog is it. Just hope some of the stricter doggy people don't judge me as a failure for joining the halter ranks.
