Are there any on the market which you can buy which your dog wont be able to "back" out of?.

I was looking at a Canny collar but have read about dogs stopping and backing out of them Sad .

I looked at the Dogmatic one too then read the same thing!.

Thank you!

I've given up on the whole idea, none of them seemed right and all of them seemed to have the same issue of dogs disliking them.

Is this to do with the over-excitement with dogs thing? I can't think of any halter that dogs can't pull out of, even the halti recommends having it on a dual lead Rolling Eyes

So difficult isn't it? If you do find a really good one let me know. Good luck.

Hi Sophie,

yes i was going to give one a go to try and help with the over excitement with dogs. I would be devasted if Jack was able to pull himself out of it.
It is difficult i agree.

I saw that Halti do a lead link or something, not sure how it works though or where you attach it Confused

The only Bliss-proof one I've found is the halti. Although she can shake her head out of it when in a frenzy (she's fear aggressive) the safety catch prevents her getting loose. The safety catch attaches to the collar so if the halti comes off the dogs head its still attached to the collar and therefore the lead. I hope this makes sense its quite hard to describe!!

I have a double ended halti lead which attaches in all sorts of ways but can be used to clip one end to a halti and the other to a collar.

I do also have an unused halti harness (I bought it then couldn't get my head around how to use it), would that be any good to you? It would give you more control and it needs a good home.

Sophie, thank you so much for your kind offer, Jack does have a harness but like you, found it rather confusing so gave up!.

So do you use a halti head collar with the double ended lead on Cadbury?

We use a dogmatic collar with Molly, who can get very excitable !!!! I have halti and canny but find this the best and she certainly finds it the most comfortable. We simply clip the lead onto both the head collar and her normal collar. It doesn't ride up into her eyes - We think its great - Deb

No, gave up on the halti too, we are just working a on a flat collar. I just like double-ended leads, I have two a leather one and the halti one, its handy for being able to change lengths when needed, plus when I have to lift Cadbury in the car by myself I can unclip one end and loop it through the car guard, so he can't suddenly run off when I am manhandling him into the back of the car.

For some reason I can't get Cadbury to jump in a car, I am thinking of getting a ramp before he hits 30kg.
