Hello everyone,

I'm new to this site, I have a 12 week old choccy pup, adorable, good fun and hard work.

I'm sure I'll be turning to this forum regularly for advice, in fact, if anyone knows how to prevent a choccy lab pulling a christmas tree over every two minutes, let me know!

Welcome to the forums. Very Happy

I'm trying to work that out myself re the christmas tree.... still haven't got the decs on it yet and had to take the lights off yesterday night as realised none of the green ones were working! I think it's easier when the pups are little they run underneath no problem but this year Corbie's tail is dangerous and he tries to run under it but just goes through the tree instead Laughing

Welcome to the forums!

I think the only way to stop a Lab pulling over a Christmas Tree is to take it down! Laughing

Hi Scoop and welcome to LF to you and Fletcher, I`m with Jill!!, I`m not even going to find out how a tree would survive a CJ onslaught Laughing

Seriously though, you could try some of the fencing stuff they sell for gardens, just the small ones, as Fletcher is still relatively small it may just work!, as for next year......................... Shocked Confused

Did FLetcher get his name from the TV prog Porridge by any chance? Very Happy

Hi Scoop

Welcome to the forum....

OK TIP of the week, HOW DO I KEEP THE CHRISTMAS TREE UPRIGHT!

Easy you need 2 tacks/drawing pins and some string.

Find the middle of your tree, wrap long piece of string around the stem and then secure with the pins/tacks to the wall.

It keeps the tree upright and is even kitten proof (long since tried and tested by me and my 3 cats) but can't guarantee the Decs will say on.

SO to secure your decorations, try using rubber bands through the metal loops instead of plastic tree hooks and cotton, the rubber prevents them being pulled off!!

TA DA an almost dog and cat proof tree!!

Thanks everyone for your replies, this is a really friendly forum!

Fletcher is named after Fletcher Christian, the Bounty mutineer, but it did seem fitting after the sad death of Ronnie Barker to give our pup this name, he's already being nicknamed Fletch!
