UPDATE taken from FOARCT website

Rhys came from a puppyfarm where he must have injured his leg when very young. He is now 5 months old and has little use of his back right leg.Rhys will hopefully be able to one day, go to a new forever home but right now he will remain with us.Rhys needed extensive surgery and also had to see an orthopedic specialist. His leg was in a dreadful mess. The knee cap was round the outside of his leg, the bone was twisted, the main muscle was in the wrong place and too short and that was just the start. The cost for Rhys to get the vital medical treatment he needed cost £2500 and that was a special rate for us. The wonderful people from Labrador rescue stepped in to help us fund Rhy's medical treatment, after hearing about Rhys. Even though they have limited funds, just the same as we do, they still went that extra mile to raise funds to help him.We will be eternally in their debt to them for their generous help.We would also wish to thank the many others who have helped us fund Rhys's treatment so far, including a special thankyou to the family of Pudsey (also a rescue dog) who donated money in Pudseys memory.

Rhys still needs on-going treatment and also water therapy to help him walk again and make his future a much happier one.

It's so sad to read that Rhys has little use of his back right leg, but in my heart I feel that 'any' use (he has) of the leg is a huge improvement from that withered leg he had, bless him. I remember the video of him and he was a sweetie, trying so hard to have fun.

I do hope that he gets to be able to go to that 'forever' home. He looks such a special, happy little chap, even with all his difficulties.

Thank you for the up-date.
