Yep they have a proper decent buckle.

I like the look of a shiny chain but I would worry that mine would hang themselves as they belt through the undergrowth. I worry enough that they will snag their ordinary collars (because they have a couple of times) but if they were wearing a choke chain, it might be too late by the time I got to them. |
They're both loose enough to slip their head through if necessary and certainly not as restrictive as a buckled collar.
That's why I made reference to a lady mayoress - it dangles quite a way down her chest Paddy has slipped his a couple of times, once lost it completely and the second time found it in the grass.
