Say I want to come and watch a novice test, is a Novice test essentially the same exercises as NDNH but just more experienced handlers so a better standard?
Also, Becs went to a working test where Zorro could go along and it doubled up as a fun open day with scurries etc - do any of the southern clubs do these please?

No the tests set will be harder than that for NDNH at a Novice test. The handlers usually are a little more experienced, but also you are back to that mix in the 'field' of runners of experienced people running their young dogs and 'eternal Novices' who don't take it overly seriously and just come out to have a goo day and have no desire to rise above Novice really, because Open tests are a heck of a step up.

Yes they do fun days, charity events usually, well two do - SEGS and Utility Gundog Society Kent and East Sussex. However these are stand alone fun days and not run with bona fide working tests alongside. Working test exercises are run at these too usually but they are, again, on a *fun* basis.

No not at all, no need to be a member. Just give the sec a tinkle a day or two before to ask directions and start times and just to let her know you are coming. No unentered dogs are allowed though you are quite right.
