Don't think you have a choice Ness - the dog has been handed to the Dogs Trust - she is their responsiblitity and they will know whether she has whelped recently or not.... tell them and let them sort it!

Poor dog, hope she gets her nice loving home...

Oh my goodness, just caught up with this thread! Well done Ness for all you've done so far! What a story! I hope the beautiful girl either a) gets claimed by her rightful owners (although I'd have something to say as to why she's so skinny!) or b) finds a new, loving and proper home! Poor girl

I think Eve's right.

I would hope (and feel sure) Dogs Trust would check out anyone claiming to be the rightful owner to make sure they are, before handing the dog over? If the dog has done her seven days she now legally belongs to the DT so it's up to them whether they rehome her, or pass her back to someone claiming to be the previous owner.

Hold on! I haven't said anyone shouldn't have faith in the Dogs Trust.

I said it's up to them what they do with the dog and I'm sure they would check out any claims of previous ownership.

Angela I wasn;t suggesting you were - it was a lighthearted comment at the end of "i've got faith" - that was all nothing more and nothing behind it!
