I am doing my first actual rescue this afternoon of 3 puppies. These are not Labs, but now I am on the "Front Line" so to speak, my god the organisation that is needed to get these rescue dogs secure. The phone calls, organising, transport, fosterers, paperwork, I didn't realise the scale of it all. One of the transporters is taking a dog for another rescue this morning to Bristol driving back to Exeter, then over to me to collect a pup and then taking that little soul back to Exeter to be collected by someone else to transport it to it's foster home. To think this is happening day in, day out all over the UK 365 days of the year and then people question paying for a rescue dog. On top of all that there is the emotional side of it all. I have had to sit back for 3 weeks, waiting for this to unfold, hoping they weren't passed on to the wrong people, in the mean time.
Also the reaction of some people when you say I am with Rescue, you can see the shutters coming down over their faces. But luckily in this case the chaps partner saw the sense of passing them over to a reputable rescue. The only sad thing is they turned down the offer of help to pay for the bitch to be spayed.

Welcome to the real world of rescue
