There have been a couple of threads on here about it in the past. I'm not sure if the ban has actually come through officially or not - I thought it had - but maybe it's still "in action" but it is going through as I understand.
The manufacturers are apparently not very happy: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/7473597.stm Shame!
I really wouldn't want to go down that route for aggression issues between two dogs in the same household, honestly, I think it could make a bad situation worse.
I do hope you can resolve things so they can live happily together again. Are you separating them when you can't be around to supervise, just in case?

Yes - they are never left alone together.
We have kept multiple dogs for years and this has never happened before. We never leave more than 2 dogs together in the house or the kennels because we have always been well aware that if 2 dogs fight they can usually resolve their differences but if other dogs join in it could be a blood-bath.
I think that I am the trigger as it has only ever happened with me around.

It all kicked off again today and again the lab has attacked the terrier. The poor terrier has been backwards and forwards to the vets for the last month to deal with abcesses from the last attack. The old wounds have been opened up again by this attack.
The lab is going to have to go and live with our daughter which isn't ideal because she lives in rented accomodation and already has a horse on livery to look after as well as a full time job.
We have suggested rehoming to our daughter but she can't bear the thought of it.

Have you had a behaviourist in yet to diagnose and suggest a way to fix this?? You really, REALLY need to speak to a professional about this who can actually witness an attack and read the body language of the two dogs at the exact moment the attacks happen.
It is absolutely not on that the terrier has been back & forth to the vets for a month for treatment from a bite from the lab - completely understand you wanting to seperate them - but truly, can't you find a behaviourist to help?
Have you asked your vet about a referral - my vets practice is also a farm practice, I live in the back of beyond, but they have a folder at reception of dog walkers, pet sitters, boarding kennels, training classes and behaviourists. If you post your location maybe someone can give you a personal recommendation??

The vet today has given me the name of a behaviourist but there is no way that I am going to let them witness what happens.....we are not going to let it happen! It is very traumatic to see our terrier picked up by the neck and shaken like a rat and very difficult to seperate them when it happens.
Winnie the terrier has ended up with another anaesthetic and 7 stitches this time.
