Hi John,

It is nice to know his legacy lives on in his children. Such an interestly note about the KC getting his name incorrect.

Has this happened quite often??

JO

Because Tom Smith is such a high profile person in the field of working Labradors, this has been discussed many times amongst working people so the story is well known Jo. How many other names have been misspelt by the KC I dont know, but with so many dogs registered in a year I feel sure there will be more.

But even if a name appears to be misspelt, it might not be. Tonggreen was the affix of the late great Joan Chester-Perks, Flatcoat breeder of such famous dogs as Tonggreen Starling and Tonggreen Sparrowboy. Shortly before her death someone registered the affix Tongreen. Sadly I never noticed until it was too late or I would have protested the application. Chatting to poor Joan shortly before her death she was devastated that it had been allowed!

Regards, John
