Okay all - I was the Proper Walks Queen when we lived Ooop Norf.
Now that we're all settled in down south and I've finally finished unpacking, who's up for proper walks down here?

For those who aren't in the know, proper walks are usually 2-3 hours or so, they're not for puppies or dogs under 1 year of age, they're usually 5-6 miles long and most either start, end or stop in the middle at a pub.

They're all countryside kinda things, I usually try and have them relatively near public transport if required, and they don't require you to have Olympian fitness levels or the agility of a mountain goat.

I usually organise one a month. Well, that's what we did up north anyway Smile

Around here I'd probably want to go as far as maybe Banbury in the north, Swindon/Salisbury in the west, New Forest/Portsmouth in the south, and Reading/High Wycombe to the east - something tells me there's not really much in the way of long countryside rambles inside the M25 Smile

So, if I were to start organising these again, would I have any takers down here?

Would love to join you for a blustery beach walk, but Bo is confined to 3 x 10 mins a day at the moment - vets orders - he's been limping on and off, vet thinks he's pulled something... he's very cheesed off about the lack of walks/ball games etc (and we know our labs can DO sad!)... he'd be driving himself to Wittering if he knew...

Fingers crossed for next time...

Vicky and very fed up Bo

I'd be up for that!

( I organise a mini-walk (by comparison) at Stanton Park, Swindon - last sunday in each month; we normally have me & Carly, a black lab, a greyhound and a lab x; we walk for about an hour (all dogs off lead)...)

Stanton Park, is also a good starting point for a longer walk! Very Happy
