i want to get a bed for the boys and like the look of those with tough outer covers which can be pressure washed etc and the hair doesn't stick to.

I ideally want a large ish (42 x 30 inch) bed. i've found a few but would love other recommendations Very Happy

and i've love to just buy a cover and choose my own filling... is there anywhere you can buy the covers by themselves?

thanks Very Happy

I was going to recommend Kudos dog beds: http://www.kudospetproducts.co.uk

I have them with the commercial strength covering and am really pleased with them. Will definitely buy more in the future if I need to and the company is very helpful. They are happy to make different sizes than the ones listed on the site.

They have waterproof covers, but the covers aren't removable, so not sure if that's any use having just read the last bit of your post.

If you do order any, would you please quote Oldies Club when you order (either online or via the phone) as we will get 10% if you do - at no extra cost to yourself of course Very Happy

I have got my eyes on the Tuffies and kudos dog beds. I can't really recommend them as ive not had them before, but i have something similar that i can just wipe and would never go back to fabric beds again. They are great, don't smell and don't go lumpy because the dogs cant paw them to get comfey, and they will really last you a long long time.

Tanya, would recommend the Kudos beds as above Smile They are "dipped" in the middle so make them a bit cosier than a flat bed too I think, letting the dog sink into them a little. Mine really like them Smile

We've had the oldest Kudos bed about 6-7 months now I think, it has various dogs using it and have just done a sniff test and can confirm it doesn't pong at all. It's also been out to various dog shows when I've run an Oldies Club stall and wanted somewhere for the dog to lie and it's been fab.

If you do go to Kudos, could you quote Oldies Club as per my post above so we benefit? Smile

Oooo yes AngelaC, when I am in the market for new beds and decide on a Kudos, I will bear you in mind when I order. They do look great quality beds, that type of covering is so practical.

Sam - You can't really tell what the inner cushion is like. It might go flat quickly and might not be very good quality. It depends on how much you want to spend, you might end up replacing it sooner than buying a better quality one like the Kudos or Tuffie. These do seem really good quality and I think will last a very long time.

i thought about that but can get a new inner as the outer is waterproof so if the inner does go flat, i'll just replace it.

think i'll order and see how i go. the feedback looks good.

altho why i'm bothering when both are fast asleep on the sofa! Rolling Eyes Laughing

I wont post the thread of the bed i've just bought for Lucy.....because it will show you all just how 'spoilt' she is Laughing But its soon her 1st birthday, so i don't really care Laughing and ok, she's getting a new Dublin Collar and lead too AND a new ID tag (well her old one is all scratched and you can't even see her name anymore......)

that's my story and i'm sticking to it! Shocked
