Hi, am picking up my new puppy next weekend and have seen mentioned Skinners Field and Trial Puppy, could be a good dog food to start a puppy on. Could I have some opinions on this food. As it is for a working dog would it send a puppy mad? Have been thinking James Wellbeloved, but seen a few people who are not fans. So if you could let me know how you all feel about Skinners Field and Trial Puppy that would be great. Just want the best for my little Millie.

i love it and Finn does too )
it doesn't send them loopy. think thats a misconception about it.
Finn is a chilled puppy and has thrived on it

What I would say is while the puppy is settling in with you it's wise to keep her on the food the breeder has been using until it adjusts to her new home then a new food of your choice can be phased in over a week or so, eventually so no old food and all new one.

hi thanks for the replies. I will keep her on what the breeder is feeding, but as this is just eggs and stuff, am really keen to find the best food out there. I will bring the new food in slowly so it don’t give her a bad tum! Any negatives about the food? All looking pretty good! Think I may have found the right food. Thanks.

we got Pasco from the breeder on Skinners Field and Trial Puppy, he struggled to manage the quantity of food involved and had the most rank rotten wind! We've moved him over to Burns now which is what we have Hudson on. The only catch with the Burns is that they seem to be always hungry!

Thats a bit worrying as they should have been weaned off mum before they go to new homes, normally onto soaked puppy food then onto solid by the time they are 8 weeks....
