I am glad that someone was able to post the details. I have a friend who will be attending and she said there will be 100s of people from all over the world there. I said for her to let Janice's family know, if she could, how much joy she has bought to 100s of us lab owners both pet and show owners through her dogs and that we will be thinking of them and her. My friend has taken on one of Janice's pups, one she had bred and had kept for herself, the pick of the litter. She said how happy she was to have her but also how sad too. What mixed blessings?
It's a beautiful, winter day here in SW France, bright sunshine, crisp frost, blue skies - a perfect labbie day - for Janice.

It was a cold, grey overcast morning in Malpas with a bitter wind blowing, but the villiage was full of vehicles which had carried people to Jan`s memorial service. There were many with dog cages and stickers relating to showing and some with the mud left from a previous sporting day out with the dogs.
This in itself was a moving tribute.
The service itself was probably the nicest memorial service I have been to and was a fitting tribute to jan and her life as both a teacher and dedicated dog expert and enthusiast.
There was a musical tribute from Tarporley High School musicians and eulogys from past colleagues.
The great sense of loss was surpassed by the great respect, gratitude and affection that was clear from all present.
I felt honoured to have been there and to have known Jan.

Even though I never met her, I feel very saddened
about it. I did visit the website yesterday and saw a
picure of her with her dogs.
I know she was well thought of in the show ring.

My friend told me that this song that was played at the crematorium before the memorial service and I just burst into tears when I read the lyrics. She said there was not a dry eye in the house and I'm not surprised.
"When you’re down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights.
You just call out my name,
And you know whereever I am
I’ll come running, oh yeah baby
To see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
All you have to do is call
And I’ll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You’ve got a friend.
If the sky above you
Should turn dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
And soon I will be knocking upon your door.
You just call out my name and you know where ever I am
I’ll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call
And I’ll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Hey, ain’t it good to know that you’ve got a friend?
People can be so cold.
They’ll hurt you and desert you.
Well they’ll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but don’t you let them.
You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
I’ll come running to see you again.
Oh babe, don’t you know that,
Winter spring summer or fall,
Hey now, all you’ve got to do is call.
Lord, I’ll be there, yes I will.
You’ve got a friend.
You’ve got a friend.
Ain’t it good to know you’ve got a friend.
Ain’t it good to know you’ve got a friend.
You’ve got a friend."
