We have just bought a pup Charway Ballymuse (ooby) last weekend from Janice via her brother as she was in hospital.
I first met her about a month ago, when me and my son went to Charway to visit the litter and see their mum Charway Ballycora - Janice was in some pain during our visit, though I dont think she knew the cancer had returned. Even though she was in pain with what transpired to be a broken hip, she made sure all the dogs had what they needed, it was very clear she had deep affection for the animals in her care (even the cats!!)
I left somewhat humbled, how could we possibly look after one of this ladies dogs!
I emailed Janice late in October to keep her up to date with our preparations (just trying to assure her we were worthy owners I suppose) it was then she told us her cancer had returned - She only told us so we'd understand she might have been very tired when we visited to pick our puppy up, but made a point of saying that everything would be in order!
Unfortunately Janice was in Hospital when we picked her up, so we didn't get to see and thank her, though we did send a get well card with a pic of my 5 year old girl sat in the puppy crate trying it out for size!
Well ooby has had her first check-up at the vet, who said she was in fantastic condition, and looked beautiful - testiment to the love and care Janice gave to her dogs!
We all wish her all the luck in the world!!

I'm so sorry to hear this. Living at the other end of the country, I dont know her except by reputation and by her breeding, some of which has wondered down south. I only hope this can be brought under control again.
Regards, John

first of all I got to say that I am sorry that I post this so late. I just saw it now.
I am so sad to hear this, she had a great influenced on the breed with the amazing charway
Janice was one of the most influenced, and best breeders that ever been in the UK and in the world!
Her dogs were lovely, beautiful and kind and it is all thanks to Janice.
I never knew her personally but her dogs' influenced got even to my small country, Israel.
I wanted to know how is se doing at the moment?

Sad Sad news, Charway and Janice Pritchard are formidable in the modern show labrador.
"To make a difference is to make a life's worth" Janice does this every day. A very brave lady indeed.
