HI Julie, we feed Shadow on a dry food called Healthy Options, which claims to cut down on hair shedding dry skin etc. He's fed it with a splash of warm water. Also gets one bonio and one DentaStick a day, plus a few Spillers Shapes!

Hi Julia. I ticked the "Other" box on foods. I feed "Masters Meaty Crunch" during the spring and summer months. This is a low protein maintenance grade of food. During the shooting season when my dogs are working long hours I change to "Masters Performance Plus" which is s slightly higher protein food aimed at hard working gundogs. Masters is not the easiest food to find but I've been using it for some years now and am very happy with it.

Regards, John

Hi julie, i put other as you probably know dylan is a poor eater but i am at the moment mixing pero labrador life salmon + brown rice into his mince, chicken etc and funnily enough he eats it, and better still no bad reaction to it,i am going to try him on the pero chicken and rice when i get a bag , but i am going to try and get him to eat a whole bag of salmon first before introducing the chicken as john told me not to keep chopping and changing,so fingers crossed it might work out, lynne,

Hi all,

If anyone is soon to be getting a pup, or already has one and you're feeding Pedigree dog food, this link allows you to get a free puppy pack. A friend of mine advised me that she received her puppy care pack and it was excellent - and of course it's free.

We feed our two on nature diet , Jas the yellow bith has had terrible colitis and the sensative works really well. she has Denes wholegrain mixer as well ,as that is baked it is better for her digestion. Jumbo my old 14 year old black boy has any variety nature diet. Because of his laryngeal tie back last year we took him off his usual and started him on that. we have never looked back .

I've just found this website and forum which is wonderful, but so much to read! We have Dan who is a 5 month old black lab. He is gorgeous and we have started attending gun dog training classes with him. He was exceptionally good but has suddenly started behaving like any other adolescent teenage boy! Naughty but always smiling though!

I have read all these feeding pages with interest but can't find anyone else who feeds Oscar's to their lab. Dan's mum was fed on it and we have just continued. He is still on the puppy growth food but will be moving on to the Junior when we finish this lot shortly. His coat is beautiful, he seems very well generally although he has the longest legs of any lab pup I've ever seen! We have never had a single tummy upset and he poos about 3-4 times a day (is this excessive?). He is still on 3 meals a day.

Would be interested to hear from anyone.

Oh John
I remember you saying they were due today and wondered if you'd heard, but didn't like to ask - you will keep us posted, won't you.
Is is a yellow girl you're hoping for? Lyric sounds lovely - I noticed on the URC results that she has won a few awards and I remember you saying you wanted to use Dusk on Anna. Does he carry yellow?
I'll be keeping fingers crossed for you and hope you have some news soon.
all the best
