No here are the details;
Sadly, what could have been correctable at a much younger age, Molly will now be left with on going medical issues. Molly was born with a blood vessel constricting her oesophagus. This means that whenever Molly tries to eat normal wet or dry dog food, it does not readily pass in to her stomach due to the constriction; often she will regurgitate the food. The surgery that Molly needs to have will remove this constriction, however due to the length of time that this problem has been persisting for it is very possible that Molly’s oesophagus is now “stretched” and she will require a special feeding regime for the rest of her life. To assist Molly in digesting her food, it will be necessary for her to be fed a slightly liquid diet and her food bowl will need to be raised. To increase her ability to digest the food she will need feeding 3 times a day. There is a risk that if Molly regurgitates her food too often that she could suffer from aspiration pneumonia which would require veterinary treatment.
Labrador Rescue North West and Manchester Dogs home will pay for her treatment
Manchester dogs home will only release her into LRNW care when a foster home is found.

Well its all systems go,she is going into liverpool hospital friday its MAJOR surgery has to crack open her chest anyway the dogs home have given the go ahead and fingers crossed we now have a foster home the plan is that she goes into the foster home from the hospital.
This girl will need to recuperate from all this with special foods etc.. now i imagine we need a fund going and set aside for her future for anything she may require other than the main operation so I will be discussing this with ian later
Please circulate Mollys story I so wish she wasnt called Molly we have had some really sad stories about Mollys

Just wanted ro say, my mum's GSD had this very same condition. She had her op at around 16 weeks and went on to live a perfectly healthy life. We had to be careful what we fed her (she would only have tinned food and then it had to be mashed up and slightly watered down) and she was only ever sick if she did something silly like steal the cats' food. She lived until 10yrs old when she died of a completely unrelated condition. Hope this girl has an equally good life after the op.
