G'day all,
Eve and I want to get our pupsters together for a GT next weekend, so I wondered if anyone else was interested in coming?
If you are, please post which day you prefer (Sat or Sun), morning or afternoon, and your location, and I'll get out my OS maps on Thursday and see what's smack bang in the middle of us all....
So, I'll go first.
Day : either, I'm a BillyNoMates with no plans for next weekend
Time : any time
Location : Near Newbury/Hungerford
Well all you miserable gits who are ignoring Eve and I, we're going to my village fayre on Sunday and entering into the fun dog show, so if anyone's interested in joining us PM me and I'll send you the details. It's 2 miles up the road from M4 J14.
And a great big thank you to Ness for a lovely day - we met at the Great Shefford Country Fayre - Ness managed to secrete a lamb in her car - so the Barbies are at hers from now on!!!!
Had a good look round the stalls, Ozzie, Neo and Bramble were delighted to renew their friendship... and I was sooooo impressed at how well Ozzie behaved at the butchers stall...
It was a brilliant socialisation exercise particularly for Bramble and left me thinking I really ought to take them to more events like that...
We then had a cup of tea with Ness where the boys all tried their best to kill off each of the lovely plants that she had growing there, despite only moving in a couple of months ago!!!
A great area with loads of walks - so thank you again Ness for a really lovely day and two tired pups!!
Hehehe oh I'm so glad you had a good day!
The village fayre was great fun, we all entered into the Fun Dog Show and Eve and Bramble got a 2nd in "Dog the Judge Would Most Like to Take Home"
There's a local organic meat farm which sells the most amazing meat, they had whole lambs on sale (£70 pounds off!!!) so.... well, how could you say no to a deal like that!!! Throw in a couple of half-price chickens and some sausages and all of a sudden the village fayre got very expensive for us!!
Was amazing watching the butcher carve the lamb up though.
Eve, we've ended up with 10 roasts, 2 shanks, 4 steaks and a bazillion chops! Guess what we had for dinner last night
My highlight from the Fayre was the owl display... there were about 20 owls all sat there on logs and branches and things, three dogs sat there staring at them and they just stared back. It was fab!! They were so gorgeous!
Haven't downloaded my pics to my laptop yet but when I do I'll email you the best ones. Loads of Ozzie and Bramble with their ears flapping in the wind.
Oh, did Bramble try any of the Skinners last night??
The owls were amazing weren;t they? I love them!!!
Yes Bramble had a go at the skinners last night - he really seemed to like it.... I was back to the old trick of adding that to his regular kibble and topping up with the Skinners until that was all gone - worked for most of the feed this time....
That puppy is a nightmare!!!
Looking forward to seeing the pics - you should have some good shots ....
I know this is totally OT considering it has nothing to do with our GT, but about the Skinners.... just thought I'd mention something else I forgot to say yesterday... Ozzie doesn't eat dry kibble, he just turns his nose up at it.... BUT if I put dry kibble into a kong, then plug the end up with salmon paste or peanut butter, he'll eat it no worries, that's what he had for lunch today and there wasn't a skerrick of kibble left when I got in from work. He will also gladly eat plain dry kibble out of one of those buster cubes or smart ball things you can get in pet stores, you know the ones you have to roll around on the floor with your nose to get them to spit out kibble?
Just thought I'd mention it in case you have either a kong or a buster cube laying about, it might get him eating it dry???
Thanks Ness I may try that - can't just leave him to roll it round and eat it because Neo will pinch it and that will make Neo ill - nor will the fussy beggar eat in his cage....
Tonight we were pretty much as before - and I got most of his food down him in the end - finishing off with some diluted tinned food....
