Hey there,

Was just wondering if anyone could recomend a good place to get a crate. I had a quick scoot round ebay a while ago but has anyone any particular experience of any of the comapnies that ebay their stock?

George has more or less outgrown his 36" hand me down crate. Sad I hadn't really noticed how big he was getting in it until today when i oticed hois tail was poking out of the end!!

Do you think i should go for the 48" rather than 42"? (He's 51/2 months now so i think i probably should, but god knows where i'll put it!!)

Or even does anyone have a second hand one what they wish to sell?

Just looked and found the seller of my last cage (36 which i got for Dora but now use for Zeke)and would use them again- reasonable postage too. My older cage is a 42 inch is big enough and I often find 2 of mine in it sleeping together, but dont shut them in together. Luckily I have room under the computer area for both cages.

Mly negative comment is that it is a galvanised tray as opposed to plastic which is quieter Rolling Eyes

I must admit I never have noticed any noise with the galvanized tray.
Like i say have a good few dogs sleeping in there over the last year, saying that it is in my sitting room on a carpet, and I put a non slip vet bed in it Very Happy

I also have a smaller one and that had a plastic tray and the pups did tend to have the ocassional chew if the vet bed moved, hence i prefer the
galvanized tray Very Happy Must admit I was very impressed with the price too and the Quality is fab...

I bought a second crate for Lola the other week and since I'm anticipating Honey won't be in hers for much longer, I didn't want to spend a packet.

I bought it in Argos for cheaper than any I could get on the net. It's not as strong as Honey's savic crate, but a good deal cheaper and will do us for now.

I used the cardboard the crate came in under the tray which helps- but the noise probably is better to get a cooler surface... I usually find the vet bed in a corner and they sleep on the tray. Perhaps its my tapping intolerance kicking in with the nails making such a racket when they play fight Rolling Eyes Why do it in a confined space when they have the whole middle room and kitchen to do it in Rolling Eyes

Not having any more then Georgia Wink

I can't believe they are one next week - where does the time go? Shocked

I have a 42" and a 48" at home (as well as several 36") - I don't know if mine is an isolated case - but I haven't found the 48" particularly stable (although Hally did give birth in it Shocked ) - whereas all the others have been fab - surviving a range of nutty pups Wink
