A lot of people have commented on Ruby's new harness, saying how nice it is, so i though i would make a post showing some pics of it on here.

It is suitable for walking and car use ( we bought it for the car) and the front plate is made of evb shock absorbing rubber which moulds to the dogs body shape and is really padded making it safe and comfortable.

Here she is fashioning it in the house.

You can see how well its moulded to her chest

And it fits nice round her back too

And here she is both sitting and laying down in the car wearing it.

If anyone is interested it is made by Ezydog ( www.ezydog.com), Ruby has a size medium ( which is a little loose on the smallest setting) but i think a fully grown lab would need a large.

My mum thinks she looks like a dog version of "Lara Croft" and needs a gun holster hehe.

Lovely comfey looking harness, she does look ready for action doesn't she.

Just a word of caution, if she travels in the front of the car, please make sure the airbag is switched off, they cause horrendous injuries to dogs in an accident, that's if the dog survives Shocked They are designed to protect humans only.

Oh that's a really interesting point and not something I've thought of! My dogs go in the back and I think our car is too old to have an air bag(!) but I wouldn't have even thought about that.

A friend of mine is a fireman and they're often called out to road accidents. He's seen some dreadful situations involving dogs badly hurt by airbags. When it happens the paramedics can't do anything for the dog and there is rarely a vet who will come out.

It can be an accident where the driver will have fairly minor injuries saved by the airbag, but the passenger airbag has killed the dog.

So sad, and avoidable if they're safely in the back. It's they same reason that young children can't be in the front, but our dogs aren't protected by any laws, and people don't think about it I suppose.

A comfortable looking harness and very pretty model Laughing

How does it fasten on to the car seat belt? Do you have to thread the seat belt through the harness or is there an addtional loop?
