Morning all,

I am tempted to try my boy on Naturediet as he is getting fussy with his complete dry food. However he is in his filling out stage (11 months) and wondered whether the 10% protein was a high enough content for his development when comparing that to the usual percentages of between 18-30 for dry complete products.

Any one solely feeding Naturediet to their pre- adult dogs got any advice?

Thanks.

I'm feeding it to my pup and she is growing well. Wink

Sarah (Basilsmum) was trying to explain to me why you can't compare the protein levels in dried and wet foods but I'm not much good with Maths and I ended up with more questions than answers Rolling Eyes Laughing .

Minnie-Moo has been fed solely on Naturediet Puppy since she was eight weeks old. She's now about 6.5 months old and I am very pleased with how she's doing. She's a dainty, slim built dog (her mother at least is working type).

I have spoken to Naturediet about the protein comparisons - I've quizzed them at length about their food over the years Laughing and always found them very forthcoming and helpful, so you could certainly give them a call and ask them direct. It would probably be more useful and reliable than me attempting to explain! I felt happy with what they told me but I'm not sure I'd manage to repeat it very successfully.

There are some fact sheets on their website: http://www.naturediet.net/health_advice/index.html?library_branch=health_advice/general_information/ - including one about protein and one about puppy feeding - which might be of use too.

Oh I'm glad it's not just me! I'm good at maths and I understood what Naturediet told me but I'm b*ggered if I can explain it now.

I dont know how to explain it properly... but the levels of protein in naturediet although it says 10% is similar to the amounts in complete dry food.

I wish I new how to explain it properly... but as I see it... its an issue of dilution.

10% of the total in a wet food..... would equaly 20 or 30% of the total in a dry... if you get me??

The water... say... dilutes...

I'm rubbish at explaining.

Thanks all for your info, and having read the link above I can fully understand why you didnt want to put it in your own words!

The Naturediet website explains it all nicely though, and I am happy to try out the food to see if his lordship approves!!

ps Bit worrying on the FAQ section that it says never to feed raw eggs though, but thats one for another thread.
