Well I was chatting to Kaye yesterday and even though we are coming to the end of May and the GT is in August we have hardly any takers thus far (That's confirmed and paid takers)

As a lot of organisation is needed and payments etc for the GT we need a minimum attendance to warrant doing it.

To this end we have to sadly say that unless we get 32+ confirmed and paid bookings for camping then we will have no option but to cancel this year, and look for alternative ways of LF members meeting up.

You can buy your tickets >>HERE<<

Hi All,

Just to let you know that so far we have sold 3 tickets (2 of those with additional guest) and all three are camping Rolling Eyes

We are now in June and by the end of this month a decision will be made whether the GT will go ahead as planned based on the number of tickets sold (or not Embarassed )

It will be a shame to cancel but we will have to be realistic when it comes to decision time. For example the scouts come free of charge ( we cover their pitches for the tents extra) on the basis that any money they make they keep towards their own scout group - if the numbers are too low it would be unfair to expect charities and groups like the scouts to turn up and not even cover expenses (petrol, gas, food in anticipation etc) and more than likely make a loss Rolling Eyes

I understand that the weather was....well dreadful last year but we have been doing a sun dance since January and are anticipating a glorious day this year Laughing

I will keep you updated through the month on numbers and as i say a final decision will be made by the end of June Rolling Eyes

Kaye

Thanks for this update Kaye... the only reason I started this is I realise that to cancel will cost "you" in admin time as well, so I thought I had better wait until buying my day ticket until you had the necessary campers...

ps. the weather doesn't put us hard northern folks off! Wink Laughing Laughing

I would go, but afraid it is too far for me - I would struggle traveling 150 miles to get to it given my conditions, making it a 300 mile round trip, and I am not sure we will have a car by August sorry Crying or Very sad
