Just wondered whether anyone who needs to cut their dog's claws uses a nail file that they can recommend?
I am a wuss when it comes to trimming nails and use a Dremmel for Bo which is brilliant but I want to get Blondie used to something else first and to fine tune Bo's.

I was away to suggest a wee dremmel thing! I use that to finish off Huds nails. A file called a Diamond Deb is a pretty good file to use, its quite wide and non chew-able!

Sally

I don't think there is anything quite as good as cutting nails and I have a real "thing" about keeping nails cut to get a good correctly shaped foot especially on pups.

Your pup is such a beautiful girl, if I were you I would bite the bullet and get clipping. Get someone you trust to show you how and just get on with it Very Happy .

But surely you are hoping to make her up to ShCh so you will want to ensure that you give her every chance of achieving that!

I am not trying to be condescending, but if it were me I would want to be clipping them myself, and if you show her yourself they will need trimming before each show or if the breeder is showing for you she will expect them to be trimmed.

I have an old one made by Millers Forge, USA, although I almost never use it. I prefer clipping which I start as soon as I get a puppy. I see Mikki do a file here http://www.surreypetsupplies.co.uk/acatalog/Mikki_Brushes__Combs_and_Scissors.html although I've no idea if it's any good. But saying that, their stuff usually is.

Regards, John
