Hi all,

I have a 2 year old lab, Bracken.

Excellent dog on and off lead. Hardly barks, not scared of fireworks, great with kids and other people, does everything at command but.....

She has started destroying my house again.

got over the puppy stages. During the day she is left alone for 3 hours max. Have tried Kongs, bones and toys etc, nothing works.

Every day for the last 3 weeks, she has eaten something from lino to doors and even a metal colander!

We have one other slight problem with her, that she constanlty goes into phantom pregnancies and still awaiting to get her dressed.

Any other home tips?

Hi welcome to LF

I would put her in a crate if she is destroying your house then she can't do your home or herself any harm.

Just a thought...years ago my mum came home to our old lab a couple of times...once while she was here to find a load of damage. It turned out that the battery was going on our fire alarm and was doing an intermittant beep...must of drove her crackers as when we realized and changed the batteries she stopped.

The only cure for phantoms that I know of is spaying. My lab had a phantom after her first season and the vet told me if I didn't spay they would get progressivley worse after each subsequent season. hth Very Happy
