hi all been to sad to post up until now. had to put hooch to sleep 4 weeks ago she was nearly 12 she developed a cough which was treated but wouldnt go away so xrays followed she had lung cancer.i miss her so much she was wonderful dog.duke my 4 year old lab has been searching for her. labs are the best dogs you could ever have, what great memoreies i have Crying or Very sad

Awww It's so sad to lose them, no matter what age they are. Sad

I lost one to Lung Cancer too several years ago now...and I still wonder why she got it, as no one smokes in the house.

So sorry to hear about Hooch Tor, you did the right thing for her though although no doubt it didn`t feel like that at the time.

You`ll one day find yourself smiling as something reminds you of what Hooch used to get up to.

So sorry to hear your news - you did the best that you could for Hooch...

This is such a difficult time for you but hold on to your memories and she will be there with them...

I remember when Sam died, Neo would not leave me for at least 2 weeks, and on the Saturday when I took him on the common for a long walk, he would not leave my side kept looking for Sam and at the end of the walk refused to move because he was waiting for Sam to catch up - I cried buckets...

They do need to grieve as we do, but time is a great healer and they do come to terms with the loss - though Neo still some 2 and a half years later leaves half a dog bed for Sam....
