Have just read on another thread that this used to be the culprit for a parasitic worm, but mostly bred out now...however I still ask the question of you more experienced barfers out there.
None of the Billinghurst books outlaw pork - but is that because he's in Australia?
Any one got any pointers?
thanks

We don't feed it because it can carry more parasites than other meat, but if you have a reputable source I don't see why not. To be honest I'd never thought about checking with our butcher, as it should be an easy job to trace the meat, all the meat they supply us with is from local farmers. But if you can't trace it and guarantee it will be free of parasites then I wouldn't feed it.

Thanks Joanne - so I presume you don't feed pork offal either for the same reason?
I will check with my butcher. Somewhere I read that freezing it destroys it...

Yeah i read on a raw site that tracheosis (sp?) has virtually disappeared now but in any case freezing pork for 3 weeks minimum before feeding eliminates the risk.
All that said, i don't feed it
