Hi, just trying to figure something out.
What time do you all feed your pup his/her last feed at night?
And how long does your pup sleep?
I feed Byron at 9pm, he has been fine, sleeping 10pm till 5am, then going to the loo and then sleeping till 7-7.30am then having breakfast.
But the last three nights it's been 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am, then back to sleep till 8!
I don't know why he is waking up and quite frankly he is starting to do my nut in! I don't mind him waking up once or twice in the night but every hour is a bit much and he doesn't go to the loo or anything. He is so lovely and very clingy with me, I think that's why, I let him sleep on the sofa with me when he eventually wakes up at 5am, till 7ish, and I think he thinks he can do this earlier. No way Mister! lol x
Last feed depends on each pup, when it was fed it's last feed by it's breeder or how long after I have to wait for the poo. So anything between 6 and 10pm really.
I don't do the get up if they shout thing. I set my alarm and get up then and only then, as I don't want them thinking I come when called. By about 10 weeks old, mine are usually going from about 11pm through to about 5-6am, which is when I then get up.
I wasn't getting up for him, and if it was a weekend, I'd ignore him. But my daughter gets up at 6.30 for school so I don't want him keeping her awake. It's an important time for her right now. He was going through, I was really happy t get up at 5am. But this last three days...
Hi, we feed busby at 7.30pm, he has a poo at 8 pm'ish and the we play and cuddle etc until about 9.30pm when we all go to bed ( I work earlies and my OH shift work). He sleeps right through to 5am when my alarm goes off, I go downstairs once washed, dressed and ready and let him out for a wee and poo. Then it usually back to bed until the OH get up at 8 am. He is a lazy pup though and has always slept like this from the first night we brought him home ( we had to wake him for a wee for the first week )
____________ Busby, makes me smile at least once every day
I would say you set the routine, ie what time you want him to get up in the morning [this does not include the quick toilet break].
What routine he gets used to now is what he will continue to do, if he has a cuddle at 5am now, he will be looking for that as he has learned what strings to pull .
Ear plugs for your daughter, and if you are an early riser then he will probably become the same. I am rubbish in the mornings and the dogs know it, they sometimes come and see if they can get a response from me with a little nudge, but if I don't speak they go back to bed , Mischa may lay by my feet for a while but does eventually go back to her bed.
I set the routine from very early on when she was managing to go through the night, the only time they veer off the normal is when we go away and they sleep in the awning, I do get up if they get restless as Bruno has been known to do a Houdini and take himself to the Loo, has not learnt to get back in the same way he gets out .
