Definitely don;t stop cover on oldies - my friend had her dog insured with pet plan until he was about 7 and THEN she decided as she had never made a claim that it was totally unnecessary and a waste of money...Guess who started to develop various age - related very expensive to treat conditions about 3 months later??!!

try this pet insurance comparison chart -

https://www.petprotect.co.uk/TheRightCover/OurProducts/comparisontool.asp

it won't give you the cost of the insurance but you will be able to compare the covers Very Happy

after numerous posts reccomending m and s ive just asked for a quote and nearly fallen off my chair. for a 12 year old spaniel with no medical probs never had to make a claim 60 pounds per month compared to cheapest comparable cover quote of 16 a month, it does seem a lottery for where you live

I think I shall be cancelling my M&S insurance this year because of their premiums - the cats are insured with them and last year the premium went up from £5 pcm to £13 pcm.... I did not because one of the cats had just had a nasty accident and I did not want that excluded but she seems fine now...so I am sure I shall be changing ...

I have just insured with petpals on Jules recommendation. Lifetime cover and a reasonable premium. I was very annoyed to see that M&S quote on postcode when quite obviously vets fee's are pretty close in cost countrywide. There's not that huge a difference to justify the huge differences in premium people get quoted for. Smile
