Thank you paperboat, Eve and Jayne...
Just thought I will show you two photos of Poppy from few weeks ago when she is less 'fluffy' They were taken two days after the ones posted earlier and I believe are a more true reflection of what she looks like...
I am not worried about her weight but I am 'watching' her... and reduced her food a bit...
She has lost some weight (assessed visually ) since then so we are doing OK...
Poppy was was weighed on Friday before her GA and weighs 29.6kg... The nurses said she is fine and she only put 1.5kg since she was last weighed at 8 months (she is 13 months now). The vet still said she is a bit chunky... but he is orthopeadic vet so I was told they like them really lean... The nurses said that earlier in the morning there was a dog who was 14kg overweighed and the vet took the owner to the car park, gave him 14kg of something (... bags? cannot remember what ) and made him walk aroung the car park few times... just to show how it feels...
I still like the vet as he is excellent at what he does even though he called my princess chunky...

She looks in fine shape, I was assuming (and you confirmed above) that the vet was the ortho vet and would probably like to see her carry as little extra weight as possible because of the problem(s) with her elbows. I like your vet, I think it sounds wonderful how he really got home the message to someone with their dog 14kg overweight. I see so many overly well padded labradors that are walked a lot, and I do wonder what it does to their joints with all the extra weight.
Another idea for cutting down the extra calories would be to swap some of her tinned oily fish for fish in springwater. Poor old Chloe seems to keep the padding on well, I'm constantly having to keep an eye on her weight and she really does love her food now.
xx

Thank you Joanne...
I am trying my hardest to be strict with her... but sometimes when I feel down about what a raw deal in life she has (not just food wise... ) and I am told to rest her again... she deserves a little treat...
Will get fish in spring water... I already swapped her onto sardines in tomato sauce...

Jeez, Dorota! Poppy is like a skinny super model compared to Honey!! (visions of Poppy Kate Moss beside Honey Jo Brand!!) I had her weight right down and she was looking fab and guess what little madam has been up to - stealing baby sister's kibble when my back's turned! So 1.5 KG later, she is on serious rations until she is less cuddly

Dora, she looks fine and I dont think she need to loose any weight!
I think it was just one vet opinion.
