Hi all
Boring question I know but can anyone tell me the difference between 'per condition' and 'per year'?!
Is 'per condition' - per condition for the life of the pet? or per condition per year?
And is 'per year' - per year for ALL conditions combined?
Which is better?
Thinking on going with More Than - they have £7,000 per condition, £70 excess - £15.99 a month or £191.88 a year - Do you all think this is a good deal?
And is there anything else I should be aware of?
Thanks everyone!

We spent ages looking at the different insurances and in the end went for Petplan, they are quite expensive but cover the dog for life with whatever condition they have so its an unlimited pay out not like some insurances where they pay up to £7000 a year. I've also heard that they are really reliable. Some insurances are really slow to pay out but apparently petplan are on time etc
Not sure if that is much help to you but have a look at their website if you havent already.
I'm fine thanks Pam, bet you're getting excited for Holly coming home is ther breeder going to send you lots of photos of her as shes growing?
Isnt the RAF just great!! it drives me insane most of the time So how long do you have to wait now till he's back? hopefully the time will go quite quickly and he'll be back home with you
You'll find that petplan is about £300 a year, i just felt for what it would offer if Marley ever needed any treatment outweighed any of the others. I know quite a few on here like petplan too
i'm with more than and i decided that £7000 per condition was probably going to be enough. Its a good policy and i've had no trouble claiming.
I kinda weighed up the chances of him getting a condition that would cost more than £7000 versus the extra money i'd be paying out for a lifetime cover
All depends on your dog i suppose. I knew Coal (and now Finn) are from good hip scored parents and well breed so unlikely to develop that problem etc.

Its never too late to be what you might have been

I'm not too sure if they are going to take lots of photos or not...I hope so though!
We haven't actually got a return date for hubby yet, should be in about 2 1/2 weeks, as opposed to this Friday You know what the RAF are like though - it could be a completely different story tomorrow!
Per Year means that if you have claim for anything, then next year that condition will be an exemption, so you won't be able to claim again. Now this can be ok if you have say a case of Mange, as once treated it is unlikely to come back...but if you claim for Diarrhea, then next year and further years you won't be able to claim for anything to do with Diarrhea.
Also you must remember that if you have a claim, then if you change companies any existing condition is an exemption too.
So generally speaking Per Condition policies are more expensive but far better.
