So, we've tried and been rained off a couple of times. Does anyone have a regular day/place they go walking and would like a mini GT?

With us, it's usually Seaton Beach or The Hurlers on Bodmin Moor (when we get out of Polperro that is).

If anyone's up for a meet at the beach, please shout and we'll try and get a rain free day.

We'd be up for this. Kings Woods between London Apprentice and Pentewan is very close to us; sometimes we drive down to Gwythian Beach (3 plus miles long) near Hayle.

Otherwise would be happy to find somewhere new round Bodmin way - I hear Cardinham Woods are a nice walk (?).

I've not tried walking Cardinham but have been through them on a steam train (Callum used to be a huge Thomas fan) and they look stunning.

There's always the Cammel trail from Bodmin too.

I'm hoping to get the boys (and Shadow) to Peranporth one weekend soon, the beach there is great for dogs. Are they ok on the beach all year though? I know some of the beaches are closed from April to October.

Great news, thanks for the link. Knowing how fast the weather can change in the wild West, it may have to be an almost last minute thing but I'm sure we can get some sort of central point. Last time we were talking about a GT we were looking at Colliford Lake but beaches are always good when there's kids involved.

I know this is very short notice but as Cardinham has been mentioned....
this Sunday (6th) there is a special doggie day starting at 10.30. There is a fun dog show, dog sled display and a canine version of it's a Knockout Shocked There are stalls, rescue pooch parade and gun dog demonstrations. The aim is to raise money for Hearing dogs, guide dogs and RSPCA. (tried to sum up local paper article)

I have never been to anything like this before but can vouch that cardinham is great for dogs and children. We are planning to go - hope some of you can make it too Very Happy

Darn it, only just read this, would definately have been up for that too. It seems that they do similar things there quite a lot so maybe next time.
