Hi Everyone,
Well, every month we receive many nominations for your lovely labs to be entered into the ''Lab of the Month'' competition. We are delighted to announce that the winner this month is CJ!
Here, his owner Mary, tells us why - :
Mary writes
"I`d like to enter CJ for Lab of the month, without him I`d never have found LF in the first place!, although I`d rather it had been in better circumstances than him going walkabout.
I think most of the members on LF know CJ`s (Callum Jake) story, on 8th June this year he escaped from the back yard, I took a walk around a couple of blocks from the house, no sign, came home, and called the police, reported him missing, tried the dog warden but there was no one there. A friend drove me all round the area I live looking for him, no luck.
The following day I called the dog warden, and went to the sanctuary where dogs that are picked up from this area are taken and gave them his details, and also to a local dogs home, where they told me to go back once a week!!, came back and made up flyers with his pic and details on, took Cindy and went round sticking them on every lamp post and wall etc I could find!!
I went out every day several times walking the streets calling for him, come the Sunday I was getting desperate and went to waste ground with Cindy, came out of there scratched and stung, still nothing of course, was sitting at the computer pondering my next move when the phone rang, having put Cindy outside (she always yaps at the phone) I answered it, it was a lady from the sanctuary I`d reported CJ missing to, she said she thought they had CJ there and wanted to check his chip number with me, it matched!!!!.
So off I went to pick him up straight away of course, apart from no longer having his collar (which had been specially made for him) he was fine, full of himself as always as he pulled the kennel maid back to the office, he wasn''t in the least bit interested in me!!, much more exciting things like people to look at and investigate.
Brought him home, was only back a couple of hours or so when I got an email from mum, course had no idea who that was and thought it may be spam til I saw the subject line, I wrote back straight away saying CJ was back, and then joined LF, the rest as they say, is history:
So thanks to CJ I have met a lot of very nice people but please, please, please CJ NEVER EVER do that to me again!!!"
Mary
Congratulations CJ - a special award and gift is on it''s way to you.
If anyone would like to nominate their lab for this award, please email me their name, and a little a bit about them to julie@labradorforums.co.uk .
