Just a thought but as Wendy says 2 meals of divided daily allowance makes more sense too metabolically speaking. Zeke is the only one here fed twice a day- that will soon stop as my other 3 went off 'breakfast' and are doing fine on once a day...

Regarding the veggie thing - I don't want my dog to be veggie, it's my choice not his, but I do not want to buy raw meat for him. The meat that is in his Arden Grange food is grade A and the food is not tested on animals, which is really important to me. Although I understand that there's meat in it and that it may be farmed and killed, this is the best solution for me, and for Donny.

Angela - maybe a smaller measure of the non-diet may be he answer. It might taste a bit better. I might think about adding a small amount of wet food to it, obviously then reducing the amount of dry further to compensate.

I'll give it a go and let you know how I get on.

Thank you so much for all of the advice guys, I really appreciate and value all the advice and help.

I understand where you are coming from - that's why I buy Naturediet for mine and I sometimes give them some Burns (and maybe some AG in the future) too Smile

Mine are on Royal Canin Labrador food and it has worked wonders for them. Yes they are only on 200g a day but even though they are big they are happy on that plus a few raw carrots and apples etc. Both have a much better shape and are happier. Scamp is a big boy anyway but had put a few too many pounds on and Star has just been spayed so we are being a bit careful. One thing to note, the RC lab has less calories than the RC light. Yes the Hills RD has less again so if this didnt work that was my next thing to try.
