I've made our covers (filled with a washable duvet), like Skatty says I don't bother with a fastening and just use a big overlap flap.

For a bit of luxury I bought a washable bolster cushion and made a cover for that too - it's a good little head rest for Basil

It's very clean Confused .....love the material though Laughing

an overlap/or like a pillow case is a good idea as velcro can be very tempting to a chewer lol
The best tip I can give you is to cut your qult in half and stitch round the edges then put them in layers inside the bed, there so much easier to get in the washing machine then Wink
good luck Very Happy

I make all my pet beds, cat and dogs. Old duvets cut if needed and sewn up, and covers made from old sheets, duvet covers etc. Also old blankets cut to fit crate, doubled and edged. All go in washer often, at least once a week usually more. Skittle will chew ANYTHING so most have holes in!! but as they only cost me a few quid from charity shop I dont mind!!

Spent 2 hrs last night making cusion covers for them!! Embarassed

I think I need to get out more!! Laughing Laughing

Absolutely love the bed you made Sarah.

And Skatty's idea re. the incontinence sheets. A friend's cat suffers from epilepsy and occasionally "lets go" during a seizure. This would be of great help to her.

Thanks

Thom
