Hi Sue, thank you for a quick reply.

Sir Alphonso pops up a few times on her pedigree and I was just wondering what colour he was, what type of lab he was, working ?
I'm hoping to breed from KITE at some stage and was just wondering whether breeding back into the Tyton line would be a good idea.

I have quite a few of the Tyton dogs in my bitch's ped; the kennel was started from JimJoy Lines.

Tyton Lord Hastings was by Boothgates Headliner out of Tyton Casca

Hastings was then bred with his mothers sister - Tyton Manata Trufa to produce

"Tyton Sir Alphonso at JimJoy"

All these Tyton dogs were Chocolates. Sir Alphonso was withdrawn from the breeding programme because some of his progeny developed eye problems.

All the dogs had good hips, although I don't have exact scores.

How close is the breeding of Alphonso? Any double up would exacerbate potential problems, and would I guess depend on how far back in the pedigree they were. I am sure the more knowledgeable will be able to advise you.

My bitch has current clear eye tests, but even if she could spring a win at Crufts, even with my limited knowledge from looking at the pedigrees, I wouldn't consider breeding from her.

Great colour, fantastic pet, potential for obedience, passes muster at open shows and for now that suits me fine Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

ROFLMAO @ Rhoni

Had my leaving do from work Friday night, and hence the mother of all hangovers which eliminated any potential for movement of any part of the body other than my hands - think I have been here ever since Sad Shocked Confused and next weekend I will be recovering from an operation before starting my new job on the Monday so BRING ON THE 'L' PLATES - PMSL

Sue

PS: I really should get out more - trouble is, every time I do, I end up spending money on cars, computers or doing something that involves dogs, including trying to look at pups - think Martin thinks I should just get tied permanently to the computer - can do less damage there Embarassed Embarassed

I went on a mission to find out about the dogs because I kept stonewalling everywhere I went. Alphonso was by all accounts a really nice choccie dog with good hips Very Happy (no-one ever says that about me Embarassed Embarassed )

I have got the ancestory of those dogs going back several generations now Very Happy
