My female lab was at 40kg and has slimmed to 36kg and is on light food from oscars (vet food twice the price, was on that for a while). Any other tips etc?
What weight are yours?

Jayda is 29kg. Vet just told me to keep an eye on her weight.

My tip would be less food and more exercise if you're dog is over weight.

Hi Stroma, Indie is 31.6kg, which is heavy for her although she has lost just under a kilo. We can forgive her though as she's just nicely recovering from a cruciate op, and put a bit of weight on during her cage rest. Prior to that she was around 28kg and a bag of muscles, but she is a big lass, about 24 inches at the shoulder and deep chested. Tau is approx 26kg now, but she's a much lither frame, not so dep chested and slightly shorter. We feed ours raw food.
Chloe, our old foster girl, is about the same weight as Tau, although she's much shorter. She's actually overweight, I think the only thing her owners did before they got rid of her was over feed her.

(PS you've only got one free post left, have a look at the subscription bit, its about a tenner I think and definitely worth it)

Mojo is a trim 27kg girl. She did put on some weight when she was on cage rest for a few weeks but as soon as she was allowed to have more exercise I put her on a diet and her weight went back to normal pretty quickly.

All I did was cut her food down by about 1/3 and added cooked veg so she didn't feel hungry. She is one of lifes "good doers" ... and happily maintains her weight on only 220g of food a day and plenty of exercise. Wink
