our life time cover policy is our most popular policy & provides essential vets fees cover uo to 4000 for each condition each month
thats what it says when u do a quote
I am in my 2nd year with more than £144(£11.99 pm) excess £60 also includes alternative medicine. I made a claim last year when he had to be sedated to have his ears cleaned antibiotics and drops etc and they were very quick at settling..cover for life just the death cover until age 9.
After looking closely i have decided to go with Petplan (although not signed yet as still have 5 weeks free cover to use) and i've gone for the unlimited amount life cover which is 41 quid per month. Believe me i can't really afford it but i really can't find 2 grand for an op and then pay continuously for the rest of Amber's life if she gets a serious condition, therefore this has to be the best option??? Opinions welcome
I think Petplan is probably about the best policy you can get. I know it's the most expensive but the company has been going yonks and has tons of experience and is the one that vets are most likely to let pay direct, rather than the owner having to fork out first (though not all vets will do that so don't quote me on that bit)
Hi,
We've just entered the world of Labradors after several years without a dog and are looking around for a decent pet insurance company.
Trawling through various sites i've found a quote of just under £5.00 / month for cover for our puppy.
This seems too good to be true other people on this post seem to be paying double the premium. The company is healthy pets.co.uk does anybody have any experience with these guys? is it a good quote or from your experience do you get what you pay for. The premium gets you £1000 for vet fees and a £50 excess.
Looking forward to your comments:D
Be careful with more than. They make you pay 20% of the claim if it is over a certain amount. Plus, they make it very difficult to claim for hydro etc. The policy wording says the treatment has to be carried out by a vet. No vets in my area did hydro a couple of years ago when Tess needed it.
I would look for a policy that paid out even after twelve months of treatment (lifetime illness cover). Plus paid for alternative therapy (hydro etc) even if carried out by a person other than the vet.
