I tool out a morethan policy 2 days ago but now I am having doubts having read lots more threads, ie if Phoenix did develop HD and they treated her I would never be able to move companies as she would have an exisiting condition.

I still havent got the confirmation email but did get a confirmation screen - did it online, so what I am asking is - is it possible to cancel this policy? How do I go about it, I have emailed them but had no response so far.

I really do need a lifelong one not a high amount if that makes sense.

You normally get 14 days cool off period so shouldnt be a problem.

ring them first thing monday morning and say you've decided not to insure your dog - any reputable company will let you cancel so early after cover started

This could be the case with all insurance companies, though, I think.

As far as I know you can cancel a pet insurance policy at any time.

Once you have claimed for a condition you will likely be excluded for that condition in any new policy you take out - I know that bit doesn't apply to you as you've not claimed yet.

Just reading a few things on here, maybe I have got confused, but if she did develop HD chances are treatment would be more than 7000 over a period of years and this is where more than would fail me by my understanding? Also again with HD hydro could be an important treatment.

Am swaying towards petpal - http://www.petpalsdirect.com/

Have I misunderstood something and getting myself worried over nothing? I understand it that with petpalsdirect she would be covered at £5000 a year all the time I stay with them but with more than it is a max of £7000 per condition so if I used that all up on say an HD problem in the first two years I would then not be covered for any more treatment related to that condition ever.

I am so confused!

If it is 7000 per year per condition then I don't have any problems with them and it is a very good policy.
