As many of you already know, I lost my darling Tara yesterday.
Tara was one of a kind. She was special and unique and even people who didn't like dogs took to her. She had a special passion for children and the elderly or frail, she was so tender and gentle with them.
Of course she had her daft side too. She was a terrible escape artist.....6 ft brick walls meant nothing to her, neither did 7 ft fence panels, all were leapt over in one bound, she had a particular way with door locks and handles too. She was an awful thief.....and no cup of tea nor bowl of cat food was ever safe.
Her maternal instincts new no bounds either and with her help I raised two sets of kittens and a litter of tiny baby bunnies. She knew exactly what to do and what they needed, even producing milk for several months for one sickly kitten, yet she never had any puppies of her own.....She was an Earth Mother....if she had been a human she would have been the ultimate Hippy with flowers in her hair.
I can't put into words how much she meant to me for the whole of her life.....She was my one in a million dog and she will live forever in my heart.
She gave so much and without asking and she will be sorely missed by all the family.
So my "Silly Old Tart", go and chase the Wabbits with Lottie again and I'll meet you and all the others at the Bridge when my time comes.
Oh Jules that is lovely, hugs to you and your family. I didn't have the honour of meeting Tara, but with all your wonderful stories, full of love, I felt like i knew her, and had few tears yesterday.
Run Free Tara, have lots of fun with all the bunnies, and i am sure there will be losts of cups of tea for you to steal
Again, I never met the lovely lady, but felt that I knew her through your posts and stories of her and her antics. She really was a fanstastic girl, but you dont need me to tell you that.
Thinking of you at this very sad time, and sending you some hugs to you and your family, and of course Mojo, she must be missing her terribily too.
Run free at the bridge you 'old tart' with your friend Lottie, chasing those rabbits. xx
