G'day all!!
I know it's not far away, but is anyone interested in a proper walk on either Sat 12th or Sun 13th Jan?
Destination : I'm open to ideas!! But my thought was to try out a walk I've been looking at for ages called the Woodhead Line. It's an old abandoned railway line. It forms the beginning of the Longdendale Trail (national trail). It starts from Hadfield station, so there is parking for anyone who wants to drive there, or if you're feeling adventurous you can train it up there.
If we do take this walk, it will be about 5-6 miles so probably not suitable for kids if they're not used to long walks, and not suitable for puppies.
First things first : anyone up for the dates Jan 12 or Jan 13?
Next : does that location suit everyone? If you'd prefer a different spot then I'm open to ideas, I've loads more options up my sleeve
Anyway, let me know if we've any interest!!
Ness
PS Happy New Year

I know Woodhead Ness - lovely scenery - I will come & I'm sure a few more members will live close by. Don't forget we should have a long walk at my place sometime as well. There are no end of places to go & I will organise another if there is enough interest.
Have PMd you about digital cameras.
Happy new year to you & Charlie.
We used to live just around the corner from there.
Count us in, would it be okay to ask my friend to join us with Lil' Archie the Dally pup? she still lives in Hadfield so it would be really close for her to come.
Oh yay!! Sounds fab Jo! Forgot you'd said you used to live up there - perfect excuse for you to go visit your mate, and fabby excuse for us to post photos of a dally babe for Vicky to drool over
How old is Archie? Just wondering if it might be too long a walk for him? But even if he wanted to come have a hoolie about and then go home for a nap when he gets tired? I can remember seeing pics of him ages ago, but I can't remember how old he must be now?
This is relatively easy for us to get to (as for the walk - well maybe just Danny)... so I am a maybe - but I could only do the 12th of Jan - having said this, if more peeps prefer the Sunday then go ahead without us...
Archie is about 10 months old ish, maybe a little more. I'm sure he will be fine, it's me & Kirsty that'll need the help!!!!
Oooops edited to add: we'd prefer the Saturday but not too concerned about the day.
Jo Ive read some where will have a look for it that dalmatians are like labs under a yr on the exercise front so not sure that this walk would be suitable,
Im not expert though
I'm going to have to be a maybe on this one . Pud is resting for the next 5 days followed by a few days 10 mins lead walking and building back up from there. I'm thinking a proper walk might be a bit much for him? Also my sister is off to Australia and has announced that she might be going in 3 weeks time - mum is now hoping to plan some sort of leaving do for that weekend! That would prob rule the saturday out for me. If it was going to be the sunday i could see how pud is but think it would be pushing it
