I appreciate your comments, you are right i do think this is an unusual situation and not being a breeder or anything i think i was trying to find another explanation to the one i was feeling. My Mum has bred Golden Retreivers for 30 years and never heard of this happening but it is a very sad world to think someone may have done this.
The person who had the puppies has had some problems recently and i have tried to help her as much as i can. I think i feel guilty maybe that i could have done something more and the puppies would have survived.
I am very sorry to write such a negative post on here though all who read this site have always been very positive and helpful and i know you are true dog lovers, to be honest i didnt know any other way to turn. I guess we will never know what truly happened but i thank you all for your comments and support.
God bless you little ones I am shedding a tear for all of you, xxx
My dear, I am so glad you wrote as a problem shared is a problems, maybe not halved. I'm sorry I suggested there may have been foul play and not for a second would Imply your friend - an intruder sprang to mind immeditely, not the owners... and I thank you for taking the suggestion so reasonably.
Goodness I hope everyone involved can get over this as fast as possible. including mum of the litter. because of the implications of if the bitch DID kill all her litter in this very unsual way I woud lean on them to not mate her again if they were thinking another litter might help the bitch get over the experience....
Sending hugs to you
Di

Please try not to feel guilty, like you said, "I guess we will never know what truly happened." - therefore you have nothing to feel guilty about, and even IF foul play did occur, you were not to know that would happen.
