If so would you recommend? And how much do they charge? Dexter needs a bath before Christmas and I don't like leaving him at a groomers in case he has a seizure while he is there.
Ive looked on dial a dog wash website but there is no mention of charges.
I can't believe this exists! I'd borrow the neighbours' hosepipe! It's bound to be cheaper!
Seriously, I don't wash my dogs, unless one of my children pukes on them. This has only happened once! Sweet and sour chicken with vodka was a rather sticky sort of mess, and the dog concerned was trying to shake and lick it off at 2am. I put her in the bath and shampooed it all off, then went back to bed and left p*ssed daughter to sort herself out! She's never puked on a dog since.
I have never had to wash kelly yet. If I had to I would use the hosepipe like Shirley.
Shirley - your daughter must have been well p***ed to do that to one of your girls. I know you don't know what you are doing when you have had enough of the "demon drink" but I find it hard to believe she did that.
I have used a mobile dog wash service and they were excellant.
They pull up on your drive in a big van , hook up to your electricity , then take your dog into the van, it is all kitted out with hydro bath and all the top grooming equipment.
The last time i used them it was £30 for a bath, dry and groom. You have to pay extra for claws clipped etc
I havent used them for about 18months as the lady that had the franchaise in our area packed up
lol wish I could get away with not washing my dogs. All of mine roll everyday (more so Finlay than the others) and although I try to only wash the smelly area, its impossible when its a full body covering! But I use a hose - even though its a bit chilly, but they are much happier under that than me trying to put them in the bath. I have only used a groomers once but to be honest, I think its a bit of a rip off for labs who dont need clipping etc.
If mine need it, I just stick them in the bath (or under the garden hose in the warmer months). My friend used to use a mobile dog bathing person for her Irish Wolfhound a couple of times a year though, as he was just too big and heavy to get in and out of the bath...and she was more than happy with their services and results...I couldn't tell you how much it cost her though.
And Shirley....that tale is priceless . Oh the joys of living with Young Adults, eh.
Seriously - does he REALLY need a bath? Not suggesting you are wrong, but just asking you... does he NEED a bath or is it because you'd like him to have one?
I have never bathed either of my boys - a damp cloth and a good brushing usually does the trick and I have also used some doggy deoderised wet wipey things too if really necessary...
