Thought i'd share with you a little trick i have taught Lucy Locket..."Hide"
Please ignore the stupid silly 'good girl voice' and sorry but you'll have to tilt your head to watch.
I also have a suggestion but don't know where to put it, so i'll post it here, i was looking at what topic to put this under and what is the possibility of having a "Heelwork to Music / Freestyle" Topic??
Just a suggestion but would be lovely to have considering all the increasing posts about it.

I agree we should have a freestyle section, but can it include Springer Spaniels too? I think Honey is a bit old for dancing now
So, please share, how do you teach that move?

I totally agree that we need a free-style/HWTM topic thread.....maybe we could swop the 'field trails and working' topic thread to 'Dance' Moving with the times and all that........
I'm sure your springer would be allowed, we know you've got a lab too!
This is how i taught the trick:
Sat Lucy in front of me, and dangled the elastic my clicker is attached to across Lucy's head and near her eyes, she naturally wipes her face with her paw because its tickled her..... immediate 'click' and treat and praise...'good hide'. I didn't do more than roughly 3/4 goes of this because Lucy sussed and gave me a look that said "i know you want me to wipe my face with my paw, move on i've learnt it."
But still repeated this method for a few days, to make sure the trick has been learnt solidly. Then i introduced the word 'Hide', when she wiped her face with her paw, 'click' and treat.
Eventually tried the word 'hide' on its own without tickling her and finally i put on a Hand signal with the word 'hide'.
Lovely Lucy Locket. Are you going to teach my 2 anything whilst you have them ?????
Will send Dyson with a bowtie and Jessiebelle with a tutu so you can teach them how to dance. Actually have been useless with the clicker so you need to teach me when we see each other next xx
