Well done Joanne, that must have taken you ages!

I think it's brill - esp the bite inhibition, you cannot stress enough that teaching your puppy to inhibit the force of his bite will one day save his life Very Happy

Could this be made a sticky do you think?

I've 'stickied' this, so it will stay at the top of the Puppy forum, and be easier for new owners to find.

Joanne
Many thanks for your hard work. Read through last night at work. Very informative, a lot to take in but it sure does make sense.

My wife & I have our names on a list with a breeder for our first puppy. Shall definitely be referring to your excellent article.

BTW - amazingly amusing.

Hi, great article there.appreciate it!
I just got a new yellow lab(8 weeks old) and reading your article has kinda freaked me out, when i bought him 8 days bak he was not really very active, but now he has become really active n he has started jumping all over the place(is this normal, for such a small pup?)

I am really confused with the 5 min rule,i did read a lot abt it on this forum, but i am not geting how to follow it,coz even wen i take him out to the backyard to do his business he takes abt 10 mins just sniffin arnd the place and all.I am feelin really freaked out because i didnt knw that u were not supposed to play with him much,i really wish i havent dne any damge till nw.and wat does 'formal exercise' mean with respect to the five minutes rule?

Would be great if you people can help me out,any advice is totally appreciated!
Ps:this is the first time i am keeping a dog n yeah i have named him joey.

Hello Very Happy

The five minute rule is more for out on walks. A bit of playing around at home and in the garden is fine.

Look forward to seeing some photo's of Joey and pleased you found the thread of interest.
