Hi,

I am desperate to find a local highly recommended breeder for a yellow lab puppy. Does anyone know of a good place to go in West Sussex or near to us??? I thought it was best to get a Kennel Club registered pup, but have since heard that sometimes the fact they are KC can be faked and so on! Help Where should I go??

Just personal preference. My Nan had a yellow one and I have always been nervous of dark animals! silly really! Im sure a black or chocolate one would be lovely, but Yellow it is for us!

Hi there, and welcome to LF

Have a look at this thread - it has some great information about buying a labrador puppy, and also contains the breed club listings which would be a good place to start in your search for a pup in your local area Very Happy

I have another question. If I want a labrador bitch for a family home with two children what kind do I want? Working line, Show Line, Gun dog, a working/show line, this has confussed me no end! I had not come across all these terms until today! This is clearly our first puppy!
Question

to be honest although the stereotype is working lines are harder work than show lines its all very generic as you get different personalities for each dog. A good breeder will find out about you and your lifestyle and match a pup accordingly its a good question to ask prospective breeders also if they would be happy with this. The health checks are farrr more important than pedigree for a pet pup imo
