Anyone up for a treasure hunt? I was thinking Wheldrake Woods near York? Let me know and I'll start arranging, was thinking one Sunday towards end Nov early Dec (would say over Christmas but our girls are due in season!). Treasure hunt to include nice smelly treats for dogs, we organise into teams with maps and see who finds the most hidden treasure? If anyone thinks its a good idea let me know.
Give me your available dates and hopefully between everyone we'll be able to arrange something. Idea so far is to split into two teams, myself and OH (if I can twist his arm into joining in) will go and plant objects for the other team to find (I'm thinking cloth soaked in scrummy stock then dried) - these must be no more than 15 paces off the main track through Wheldrake Woods. Each team must give the opposition a map showing crosses for the treasure, depending on how many want to join in and how many pieces of 'treasure' there are to be hidden, only so many of the crosses will really be there, the rest are fake and the 'treasure' is hidden elsewhere. Does this sound like a good idea?
I wouldn't be able to make anything in Nov or Dec (having an op in a few days which will put me firmly out of action!) but it sounds really interesting, if this one goes well maybe you'd do another in the Spring?
Yes good luck with the op, if this one works then would definitely consider doing one next spring. Only problem with Saturday for me is Indie has to go to hydrotherapy, so I wouldn't have the OH to help me set out, unless someone else wants to volunteer?
And I don't mind picking up/dropping off people/dogs from centre of York.
