LOL, not funny at the time I bet!, its "that" look is`nt it?, "what you doin down there mum?", the lead I`ve got for CJ is a Lunge Rein usually used for horses of course!!, I got it from Lidl`s for around £7 I think, best buy I ever made, although when I say he can go play I have to brace myself cos he usuaully charges off and of course the lead runs out and he`s still running

Hi mary
dont know why, but I am more protective over ellie than any of the other dogs that I have for the first off the lead run and swim, Can any one please try and explain this to me, She was got for the show ring basically and pet second.
I do agree I have not put the time in with ellie that I did with the others with regards to obedience, but after today that has got to be a priority now!! Ive mainly worked on ringcraft training with her.
She had her first off the lead run for sure and her first swim and wasnt this the most fantastic sight, wish I had a camera, I took her down to the river with two of my best well trained dogs tara and riva, mainly for ellie to learn good things from. She was having the time of her life with the other two, running in and out of the river, and then came the time to put the lead back on and come home, and that waswhen the fun time started trying to get her to come and get the lead put back on, after 15 minutes and alot of running about and a pocket full of treats managed to grab her .

I don`t let CJ off the lead Colette, I use a lunge rein on him so he has plenty of length to be able to swim etc.
Prob being over protective of Ellie is because you got her for the ring, I`m over protective of CJ because having almost lost him forever once I`m not in a hurry to do it again.
If I ever show CJ he will always be a pet first and show dog second, he`s my boy and I`m proud of him, if he decides he does`nt want to be a show dog then thats fine by me, if he`s happy I`m happy

That's a good idea using that, as they're nice and long, although not THAT long when they decide to charge off
CJ does remind me of Corbie a lot from his photos. He's a nice dark colour like him.
