My lab eats toys in seconds. Any suggestions for a toy that lasts?

What have you already tried? I found kongs good. You can get super strong black ones for powerful chewers. Nylabone also make many products that are quite tough.

She has a Nylabone but I don't think she's as keen on it as other toys as it's not chewy.
I bought her a red kong and she managed to evenually destroy that. I will try a black kong. I guess they are the stongest.

Any other suggestions? Because at the moment she will only have 2 toys. The Nylabone and kong, and I fell like she should have more.

Thanks.

I found that Sam destroyed any toy in seconds - so in the end did not bother.

the only ones that I got that he liked were solid rubber balls which he never did manage to destroy (kongs even with food were ignored) and those rope things that you play tug of war with - but we very rarely played that because he played dirty!!!!! A painful experience!!! He just used to move up the rope till his teeth were against your hands..... rotten dog!!!

I know what you mean. They always want to part of the toy you're holding!

Tug toys (rope ones) and tennis balls are durable. Try googling these:

- Kong wubba
- Air kong
- Boomer ball

These are all really strong.

We also go to the local charity shop and get old kid's cuddly toys for about 50p each. We wash them when we get home and although they only last a day or two, they give him great fun and they cost hardly anything.

We also use 'free' toys such as milk cartons, cardboard boxes, flower pots etc that were going to get chucked anyway! Just be careful with all the little bits!

Oh ... shredding a newspaper is fun too!

An empty plastic water or squash bottle(without lid) - wont last long but they love the noise it makes and chase it around. Keeps them out of mischief for a while.

Molly likes an empty bottle with a few treats in you have to squash the bottle so they don't come out too easy but it will keep her busy for ages !
